John Ramsden

9th October 1986 - 11th May 2010

John Ramsden joined our club (then Carrum United) as a junior around the age of 12. He had a few brief spells playing in other local clubs but Skye / Carrum United was his home.

He was a hard working midfielder who tragically lost his life in a car accident in 2010 while on his way home from work. The accident also took the life of John's 19 year old colleague Justin Wright.

John sadly passed away in a car accident in 2010 and is deeply missed on and off the field.

Each year in May, Skye United holds a special memorial round in John's honour. Our miniroos are invited along as mascots to walk our senior players onto the pitch and we observe a minutes silence as a mark of respect.

John's parents Paul and Julie are also invited to present man of the match awards.
